Corruption has destroyed the true identity of sports in Pakistan — Akram Gilani”
Islamabad :In the name of the Beneficent, the Merciful, we give praise and thanks for His mercy and goodness. We thank Him for His prophets, the scriptures they brought, His guidance, and for this historic moment.
Infinite Championship, founded by British-Pakistani promoter Ikram Gilani, officially announced its mission to elevate Pakistan’s presence in the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) with a press conference attended by media, fans, athletes, and coaches.
“I sit here before you not just as a promoter from London, and not just as the founder of Infinite Championship, but as a British Pakistani man who has always dreamt of seeing Pakistan stand tall on the world stage,” Gilani declared. “Corruption has destroyed our sporting identity in the past. But in MMA, there is no corruption, no cheating in the cage. Pakistan’s fighters have heart in abundance – and we will protect and promote that.”
Representing Team Paquito, Zaman Extreme Martial Arts, and Iron Tribe Gym, several fighters and coaches joined Gilani to speak on the future of the sport.
Zaman Khan, a veteran martial artist with over two decades of experience, shared his journey from Kyokushin Karate to competing in Iran, Thailand, and Afghanistan. “If sincere people like Ikram come forward, within a few years we will see Pakistani fighters in the UFC. We are better than India, better than everyone – we just need the platform,” he said.
Gulmuhammad Zamani, undefeated national champion (11-0), spoke about his upcoming main-event bout with Niamatullah Khan. “My message to all is to take up sports. It teaches discipline, respect for parents, and inspires others. To the Indian fighters in my weight class – I am ready anytime, any day.”
Coach Dilawar Khan of Pakido MMA, with 15 years in the sport, expressed optimism: “Pakistan has no shortage of talent. With the right support, our fighters will make the country proud worldwide.”
Gilani closed the event with a powerful statement: “Today is not just another event – it’s a movement. Infinite Championship will set international standards, protect our athletes, and build a legacy Pakistan can be proud of. This is the beginning.”
Infinite Championship is committed to professionalism, transparency, and global-level competition, aiming to unite the country’s top talent and showcase them on the international stage
