Islamabad: Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, extended his congratulations and best wishes to the newly elected office bearers of the Lahore Press Club, including President Arshad Ansari, Senior Vice President Salman Qureshi, and Secretary Afzal Talib.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker emphasized that the Lahore Press Club represents a strong and effective voice of the journalist community. He underlined that the protection of journalists’ rights and press freedom is essential for democracy, and that a strong and independent media ensures the stability of democratic institutions.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed confidence that the new leadership of the Lahore Press Club would play a constructive role in addressing the issues faced by journalists. He also highlighted that positive engagement between Parliament and the media is vital for the strengthening of democratic institutions.
