In the historic French Quarter in Shanghai, 124 years ago today, in July 1924, thirteen great leaders including Chairman Mao Zedong held the first meeting of the Communist Party and sowed the seeds that later grew into a tall and magnificent tree in the form of the People’s Republic of China.
This place reminds us of the tireless struggle of the Chinese nation led by Chairman Mao Zedong, thanks to which China is today the second largest economy in the world in the 21st century. It is proving its mettle as an economic, military, and technological power.
Today, the world, under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, knows China as an economic and technological power. The seeds of this were sown by Chairman Mao Zedong. Subsequent Chinese rulers carried forward his mission.
