Using the veto as a tool to legitimize the continuation of massacres
“A complete flattening process of the Gaza Strip is still underway at an accelerated pace.” Targeting all towers, high-rise buildings, and even tents, to turn the sector into an uninhabitable place

“Thus, Trump gave Israel the green light to flatten Gaza and make it uninhabitable as a prelude to forced displacement- “and hindered the protection of Iran’s facilities, and consolidated occupation in Iraq”

Over decades , hundreds of resolutions issued by UN and the security council which affirm the right of the Palestine people to self-determination and to end the occupation. However, none of these resolutions have been put into practice and never implemented but they have remained only written on paper. This scene reveals a profound flaw in the mechanisms of “international legitimacy”. Democracy as defined globally is the rule of the majority and the respect for peoples’ voice particularly within the Security Council, this rule turns into its contrary Unless otherwise provide even when the majority of states agree on just resolutions. It’s almost enough for a single country of the UN to raise the “veto right” to crush such a collective will. This is not a procedural defect , it’s entrenchment of the dominance of minority over the majority and the legitimization of the law power in the expense of the power of law . what is so- called the international system never serves fairness as much as to the extent that it protects the interests of the major powers and when the resolution is fateful for Palestine. We find this regime turns into a tool in the hands those who wield influence for whom possess the right .The continuation of this reality threatens not merely the Palestinian’s rights but also uproots the point from its roots. The world in which the voice of dozens of countries is aborted by a single voice is regarded as a world ruled by masked dictatorship not UN legitimacy. That’s why the world demands an international legitimacy not a masked dictatorship under the cover of the UN. Thus the free peoples , independent organizations along with that the voices opposing oppression are called upon today to break the barrier of silence and its purpose is to rebuild the global system based on justice not interests as Palestine is not only a test of its peoples’ rights but also a matter of conscience for the entire world.
