ISLAMABAD: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, held a meeting with Country Head of Yango Services Pakistan, Miral Sharif Khan, Head of Public Policy and Government Affairs, Jahangir Khan, and other representatives of Yango at the CDA Headquarters on Thursday. Senior CDA officials, including Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Director General Resources, and Director Metro Bus Services, also attended the meeting.

The meeting focused on enhancing travel facilities for citizens of Islamabad through the integration of modern and online transport services. Both sides discussed potential collaboration to link Yango’s platform with the metro and electric feeder bus networks to improve accessibility and convenience for commuters.

Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Islamabad into one of the world’s leading capital cities. He emphasized that providing affordable, safe, and environmentally friendly transport options remains one of CDA’s top priorities.

He noted that the CDA has already launched a Google App for bus stations and real-time tracking. To make this initiative more effective, efforts are underway to integrate Yango’s services with the CDA’s public transport system. Randhawa proposed linking Yango’s car and bike services with the electric feeder bus project and the CDA’s Google App, enabling citizens to access real-time travel information and multiple transport options through a unified platform.

The Yango team shared that the company operates in more than thirty countries and is already integrated with public transport systems in several of them. They added that Yango has over 8,000 registered drivers in Pakistan, many of whom are connected with the Safe City project.

Discussions also covered the introduction of electric bikes, scooters, and bicycles to promote affordable and eco-friendly mobility in the capital. Chairman Randhawa said that CDA plans to collaborate with national and international firms under a transparent mechanism to introduce these services, assuring CDA’s full support and provision of necessary infrastructure.

The Yango representatives also expressed interest in participating in tree plantation drives, as well as cultural and recreational events in Islamabad.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa reiterated CDA’s resolve to utilize Yango’s technical expertise and global experience to provide safe, affordable, and sustainable transport facilities to the citizens of Islamabad.
