Officials briefed the Chairman on the progress of various sector development projects. The meeting decided to establish two dedicated working groups — one to accelerate ongoing sector development works and address bottlenecks, and another to prepare a comprehensive plan for the upgradation of older sectors, focusing on infrastructure rehabilitation, landscaping, and provision of modern civic facilities.
During the briefing, it was informed that in Sector C-14, work on TST (road surfacing) is in full swing, while horticulture and internal electrification works are also progressing. The Chairman directed the teams to complete remaining works at the earliest and to speed up efforts on street lighting, drainage, sewerage, water supply, and horticulture.
Regarding Sector C-15, officials informed that earthwork for road infrastructure is underway and sub-base work has been completed on 17 roads. The remaining work has been awarded and is expected to be completed by March next year.
In Sector E-12, development activities continue in Sub-sectors 2 and 3, while the tendering process for Sub-sector 4 will soon be finalized.
For Sector I-12, the Chairman was informed that the TST work is expected to be completed within the current month. He instructed for early completion of road infrastructure, installation of permanent street lights, and ensuring the availability of water supply and sewerage systems in all sectors.
Chairman Randhawa emphasized that officers responsible for sector development must ensure on-ground presence to monitor progress and that possession of developed plots in new sectors should be handed over without delay.
He reaffirmed that sector development and infrastructure improvement remain among CDA’s top priorities to meet Islamabad’s growing residential needs while maintaining the city’s planned character and quality of life.
