Islamabad : The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has successfully concluded the First Phase of its “Economic Empowerment of Vulnerable Households in Pakistan through Livestock Provision Project,” aimed at boosting livelihoods and strengthening economic resilience in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Under this phase, 1,000 beneficiary households from Lower Chitral, Upper Chitral, Lower Dir, and Upper Dir received comprehensive livelihood support packages. Each family was provided with two vaccinated goats, four bags of silage, and practical training delivered by the Livestock Department to enable sustainable, livestock-based income generation. In total, 7,250 individuals benefitted from this phase of the project.
The initiative was implemented by Peach and Development Organization in collaboration with the Relief, Rehabilitation and Settlement Department (RRSD) and PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The project seeks to improve food security while empowering vulnerable households across the province.
Building on the success of Phase One, KSrelief is preparing to launch Phase Two and Phase Three. These upcoming phases will support families in Swat, Swabi, Haripur, and Mansehra through poultry packages that include 25 poultry birds per household, a complete poultry kit, and training on poultry management and income generation. Meanwhile, households in Charsadda, Mardan, and Nowshera will receive cattle, silage, and hands-on training in animal care and dairy production to enhance their livelihood opportunities.
Through its phased, community-focused approach, KSrelief continues to promote self-reliance, improved nutrition, and long-term economic stability—underscoring the organization’s ongoing commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities across Pakistan.
