ISLAMABAD — The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Friday inaugurated a vibrant two-day Chrysanthemum and Autumn Flowers Exhibition at the newly revamped Gardenia Hub—formerly the CDA Model Nursery—located on Park Road. Chairman CDA & Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, formally opened the event, accompanied by Member Administration Talat Mahmood, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Director General Environment, and senior officials of the Environment Wing.
Officials briefed the Chairman on the transformation of the nursery into Gardenia Hub, now ranked among the largest nurseries in Asia, housing more than 1.2 million plants. This year’s exhibition features hundreds of thousands of colorful and rare floral species, including premium chrysanthemums and autumn varieties sourced from across Pakistan, alongside select international species arranged in contemporary artistic patterns.
Chairman Randhawa said the exhibition provides learning and recreational opportunities for residents, especially children, and enhances Islamabad’s standing as one of Asia’s leading horticultural exhibition destinations. He noted that such initiatives also expose local experts to global trends and innovations in gardening and floral design. He reaffirmed CDA’s commitment to keeping Islamabad “the most beautiful, colorful, and green capital.”
Praising the Environment Wing for its arrangements, the Chairman commended their sustained efforts toward improving the city’s natural aesthetics.
The CDA administration announced that the exhibition will remain open to the public on December 6 and 7, as part of the Winter Festival 2025. Visitors can contact 0300-5115254 for further details. The rare and vibrant chrysanthemum and autumn flowers are expected to remain the main attraction throughout the event.
