Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar participated in a high-level briefing of the United Nations Security Council on Palestine, where he delivered a strong condemnation of recent measures taken by Israel.
He denounced Israel’s decisions to expand control over the West Bank, continued ceasefire violations, illegal settlement activities, and attempts to alter the status of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, urging their immediate halt and reversal.
In his statement, he expressed hope that the process under the framework of UNSC Resolution 2803 would translate into concrete progress toward a permanent ceasefire, scaled-up humanitarian assistance, and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s principled position, he underscored the realization of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination through a credible and time-bound political process in accordance with international legitimacy and relevant UN resolutions—culminating in an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders, with Al‑Quds Al‑Sharif as its capital.
