BEIJING: More than 10,000 Chinese citizens have safely returned from the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and other Middle Eastern countries amid escalating regional tensions, Chinese authorities confirmed Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Guo Jiakun, said that in recent days, the ministry coordinated with the Civil Aviation Administration of China to increase flight capacity and urgently dispatch aircraft to evacuate stranded citizens. Chinese embassies and consulates worked closely with local authorities to issue safety advisories, organize schedules, and provide assistance to travelers.
“The ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran has disrupted normal airport operations in parts of the Middle East,” Guo noted, urging Chinese citizens to temporarily avoid travel to affected regions. He added that Chinese diplomatic missions would continue providing support to nationals requiring assistance.
This large-scale evacuation reflects China’s commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad during regional crises.
