Islamabad: Emphasizing the critical need for unity and interfaith understanding, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar addressed a high-profile Iftar dinner organized by the PTI Minorities Wing at the Islamabad Club. The event was attended by prominent political figures, including Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Makhdoom Mahmood Khan Achakzai, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, members of the National Assembly and Senate, central party leaders, journalists, intellectuals, and senior members of the Minorities Wing.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar stated, “Pakistan’s Constitution does not recognize the term ‘minority.’ Non-Muslims are our brothers and equal citizens. We must treat them with equality and respect. Promoting interfaith harmony is more critical today than ever.”
Leader of the Opposition Makhdoom Mahmood Khan Achakzai highlighted, “All citizens of Pakistan are equal. Dividing society into majority and minority only weakens our social fabric. Interfaith understanding is urgently needed in the country.”
PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja added, “PTI has always stood for unity, not division. We must continue our struggle for democracy and human rights to restore fairness and equality for all citizens.”
Lal Malhi, President of the PTI Minorities Wing, thanked all participants, particularly PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and the Leader of the Opposition, and underscored that interfaith harmony was a vision of the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. “In a world increasingly marked by intolerance and violence, fostering understanding across religions is more important than ever,” he said.
The event reinforced PTI’s commitment to equality, human rights, and inclusive governance, sending a strong message of unity and social cohesion at a time when it is most needed.
