Prime Minister of Azad Jammu & Kashmir Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has emphasized the historic importance of Pakistan Day, celebrated annually on March 23, marking the adoption of the Pakistan Resolution in 1940. He said the day is observed with enthusiasm and pride, reflecting on the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, whose guidance led to the creation of Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister noted that the Pakistan Resolution changed the course of history, transforming the aspirations of generations into the reality of an independent Pakistan despite immense opposition. He highlighted that the day holds special significance for Muslims of the subcontinent, who laid the foundation for a separate homeland, with Kashmiri leadership playing a vital role in this historic struggle. The participation of Kashmiri leaders in the Lahore session, he said, cemented the enduring bond between Pakistan and the people of Kashmir.
In his message, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore stated that the Pakistan Resolution teaches the value of unity and collective purpose. He described the ongoing movement in occupied Kashmir as a continuation of the mission of Pakistan, maintained through the sacrifices of Kashmiris. “Kashmiris are Pakistani by choice and consider Pakistan the center of their hopes and aspirations,” he said.
The Prime Minister further emphasized that the people of Kashmir not only contributed to the struggle for Pakistan but had aligned themselves with the country even before its creation. Decisions taken prior to August 14, 1947, reflected their commitment to join Pakistan. He added, “No other people in the world are as devoted to Pakistan as the Kashmiris. God willing, their sacrifices will bear fruit, and the completion of Pakistan will be realized through the accession of Kashmir.”
Faisal Mumtaz Rathore also highlighted that the creation of Pakistan gave new momentum to the Kashmiri struggle, invigorating their efforts for justice and freedom. He reaffirmed that Kashmir and Pakistan are inseparably linked through ideological, geographical, historical, cultural, and religious bonds—ties that no external power can sever.
This Pakistan Day, the Prime Minister called upon all citizens to remember the shared history and sacrifices that shaped the nation, reinforcing the unbreakable bond between Pakistan and Kashmir.
