Bhimber: Acting on special directives from the Supreme Court and higher authorities, the Food Authority team conducted a comprehensive inspection of marriage halls and marquees across Bhimber city to ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
During the operation, a total of seven marriage halls and marquees were thoroughly inspected. The inspection revealed that four facilities had established kitchen operations in open and compliant areas, while three were found to be operating kitchens in non-compliant, enclosed spaces. The management of these facilities has been strictly directed to relocate and construct their kitchens in designated open areas without delay to meet regulatory requirements.
Authorities further issued firm instructions to all marquee and marriage hall owners to ensure the exclusive use of cooking oil sourced from registered and approved companies. In addition, they were directed to maintain a complete and verifiable record of meat procurement, including details of vendors and supply sources, to ensure traceability and food safety compliance.
Strict action was taken against violations of hygiene protocols. Several establishments were fined for poor sanitation conditions and failure to provide mandatory medical fitness certificates for their staff, raising serious concerns regarding public health standards.
The Food Authority reiterated its commitment to enforcing food safety regulations and warned that continued non-compliance would result in stricter penalties, including possible closure of facilities.
