Islamabad: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has reiterated that the promotion of small, medium, and large-scale industries remains at the core of his government’s economic agenda, stating that targeted and practical measures are being implemented to accelerate industrialization, attract investment, and create sustainable employment opportunities across the region.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Government Advisor Sardar Fahad Yaqoob, who called on him in Islamabad on Sunday.
The Prime Minister highlighted that key administrative reforms have been introduced to facilitate investors and the business community, noting that the government is actively working to establish a stable, investor-friendly environment. He emphasized that these policy interventions are designed to encourage both domestic investors and emerging entrepreneurs, particularly the youth, to contribute to economic development.
“These initiatives are beginning to yield tangible outcomes by generating new employment opportunities, strengthening the local economy, and gradually reducing unemployment,” he remarked.
Underscoring the growing significance of the digital economy, the Prime Minister urged educated youth to diversify their focus beyond traditional sectors and actively engage with modern, technology-driven avenues. He said the government is pursuing a comprehensive policy framework aimed at equipping young people with market-relevant skills, expanding business prospects, and reinforcing the industrial base to drive long-term economic growth.
Referring to labor welfare, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore noted that the implementation of a minimum wage standard has led to improved earnings for workers, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusive and equitable economic progress.
The meeting also reviewed the party’s organizational affairs, public outreach initiatives, and strategic preparations for the upcoming elections in District Poonch. On the occasion, Sardar Fahad Yaqoob expressed confidence that under the Prime Minister’s leadership, the Pakistan Peoples Party would secure success in the forthcoming electoral contest.
