Ayaz Sadiq Extends Easter Greetings, Reaffirms Commitment to Minority Rights and National Unity

Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, has extended heartfelt greetings to members of Parliament belonging to the Christian community and to Christians across Pakistan on the joyous occasion of Easter 2026, underscoring the importance of interfaith harmony and inclusive national progress.
In his message, the Speaker stated that Easter embodies a universal message of love, hope, and peace, reflecting values that transcend religious boundaries. He acknowledged the valuable contributions of the Christian community to Pakistan’s development and progress, noting that their role remains vital in strengthening the social and economic fabric of the country.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq emphasized that religious festivals serve as a powerful platform to promote interfaith harmony, mutual respect, and brotherhood. He remarked that Easter teaches the enduring values of sacrifice, forgiveness, and service to humanity, adding that all religions advocate peace, tolerance, and coexistence.
Highlighting the constitutional framework, the Speaker underlined that the protection of minority rights in Pakistan is both a national obligation and a constitutional guarantee. He reaffirmed that Parliament remains fully committed to ensuring equal rights and opportunities for all citizens, regardless of faith or background.
Referring to the vision of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he stated that minorities in Pakistan enjoy complete religious freedom and are an integral part of the nation’s identity. He stressed that national unity, cohesion, and mutual respect are essential pillars for achieving sustainable development and long-term prosperity.
On this occasion, the Speaker called upon the entire nation to foster love, solidarity, and harmony, urging collective efforts to build a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive society. He also prayed for enduring peace, stability, and prosperity in Pakistan and around the world.
