The fourth meeting of the Committee for the fiscal year 2025–26 was held at Block No. 04, New Secretariat, with participation from senior minister Mian Abdul Waheed, cabinet members, Chief Secretary Khushhal Khan, and senior officials.
The approved portfolio includes 35 projects from the Communications & Works Department, 4 from Public Health, 3 from Education, 2 from Energy & Water Resources, and one each from Information Technology, Food, and Higher Education.
The Committee focused on strengthening infrastructure, improving public service delivery, enhancing healthcare and education systems, and promoting digital skills among youth. A major decision included the approval of 30 kilometers of link roads for each constituency across AJK to improve connectivity and facilitate public mobility.
To boost employment opportunities, the establishment of IT Excellence Centers was approved to equip youth with modern, market-oriented skills. Additionally, grid stations were sanctioned for Patikka (Tehsil Naseerabad) and Jabi Bhimber to reinforce the energy network.
The meeting also approved construction of wheat storage warehouses at multiple locations to ensure food security, along with additional classrooms in primary schools to address infrastructure gaps in the education sector.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to transparency and efficiency, the Committee emphasized timely completion of all projects with high standards to ensure maximum benefit for the public.
Addressing the meeting, Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said that development of health, education, and infrastructure sectors remains a top priority of the government. He noted that the approved projects have been designed in line with public needs to ensure provision of basic facilities in both remote and urban areas.
He further stated that resources will be utilized prudently to meet collective needs, enhance transportation facilities, and strengthen the public health system, ensuring sustainable development across Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
