The Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1) has been reopened to all traffic in both directions following the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announcement to postpone its long march until October 4. According to a statement issued by the National Highways and Motorway Police, the M-1 between Islamabad and Peshawar has been restored for normal traffic. However, restoration work remains underway on the M-14 motorway between Hakla and Kundal, as well as on the connecting road linking the M-1 with the Hazara Motorway. The Motorway Police said traffic travelling from Islamabad to Abbottabad via the M-1 can exit at Burhan Interchange, use the GT Road through Hasan Abdal, and rejoin the Hazara Expressway at Jhuri Kas Interchange.
