Beijing: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday delivered an inspiring address to students and faculty members at a leading Chinese university, emphasizing the time-tested friendship between Pakistan and China, mutual cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and the vital role of youth in shaping the future of both nations.
The Prime Minister, who is on an official visit to China, received a warm welcome from the students and professors. In his speech, he highlighted that the Pakistan-China relationship is “higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the ocean, and sweeter than honey,” describing it as a bond of trust and mutual respect spanning over seven decades.
Shehbaz Sharif underlined the importance of CPEC as a “game-changer” project not only for Pakistan and China but also for the entire region. He said that the completion of infrastructure, energy, and industrial cooperation projects under CPEC had already started transforming Pakistan’s economy. He urged students to focus on innovation, modern technology, and research to further strengthen bilateral ties.
The Prime Minister praised China’s rapid progress in science, technology, and education, stating that Pakistan seeks to learn from China’s development model. He encouraged Pakistani and Chinese students to engage in academic exchanges, joint research programs, and cultural collaboration to enhance people-to-people connectivity.
He also paid tribute to the Chinese government and people for their consistent support to Pakistan in times of need, especially during natural disasters and economic challenges. “Our friendship is a unique example in international relations, and together we will continue to march towards prosperity,” he said.
Shehbaz Sharif invited Chinese scholars and entrepreneurs to visit Pakistan and explore investment opportunities, particularly in renewable energy, IT, agriculture, and industrial zones.
At the conclusion of his address, students asked questions regarding education reforms, job opportunities for youth, and Pakistan’s vision for future development. The Prime Minister assured them that his government is fully committed to empowering the younger generation through education, skills development, and innovation.
The event concluded with an exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph, symbolizing the strong bond between the youth of both nations.
