Washington / Muzaffarabad – Javed Rathore, Chairman of the Kashmir Unity Council – USA, has strongly condemned the suspension of internet and phone services in Azad Kashmir. He has urged the government to immediately restore these essential communication channels.
In his statement, Rathore described the move as a “fascist tactic” aimed at suppressing the legitimate, democratic, and peaceful movement of the people of Azad Kashmir. He emphasized that such actions undermine the deep love and loyalty that Kashmiris have for Pakistan.
Rathore stated, “Using these repressive methods to crush the just aspirations of the Azad Kashmiri people is unacceptable. Those employing these tactics are neither true supporters of Pakistan nor sincere towards the people of Azad Kashmir. Instead, they are risking the peaceful environment of the region for their own power and privileges, pushing the area towards civil unrest.”
He further expressed his concern that these measures echo the oppressive actions of India in the Kashmir Valley and warned that they could have devastating consequences for the freedom movement as well as for Pakistan.
