News Report:
Islamabad: The demands put forward by the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) are a genuine reflection of the will and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. It is the primary responsibility of both the AJK government and the federal government of Pakistan to address these concerns with seriousness and urgency.
However, concerns have emerged regarding the involvement of a few pro-India elements who are allegedly trying to exploit th JAAK platform to harm Pakistan’s image and derail the Kashmir freedom movement. Political observers and Kashmiri activists abroad have stressed that the diaspora should support the JAAC legitimate demands with patience and wisdom, rather than fall into the trap set by a handful of disruptive voices.
Analysts warn that those who sit on foreign-funded platforms — particularly Indian-backed media — and spew venom against Pakistan, cannot be considered allies of the Kashmir cause. They argue that such individuals seek to hijack the movement and divert it from its original goals.
The JAAK must remain vigilant and distance itself from any such elements to maintain the integrity of its struggle. Dialogue between the PAC and the federal government should resume from the point where it was interrupted, with a focus on addressing core issues through peaceful means.
Given the strategic diplomatic advantage Pakistan currently holds over India, it must use this opportunity to push for a resolution of the Kashmir dispute. The recent offer of mediation by the United States should be taken seriously, and a decisive role should be played on international forums.
Commenting on the recent deployment of Pakistani forces in AJK, political commentators recall past incidents where use of force led to adverse outcomes. They argue that rather than resorting to military measures, the government should commit to a structured negotiation process with a defined timeline to resolve the people’s legitimate demands.
Senior journalist Sardar Shaukat Mahmood, in his exclusive vlog, emphasized the need to resolve the escalating situation in Azad Kashmir with prudence and mutual understanding. He stressed that only through dialogue and restraint can lasting peace and justice be ensured in the region.
