ISLAMABAD (Staff Reporter):
Pakistan’s energy sector has received a major boost with the formal launch of operations by China’s leading energy technology firm Famlink Power, alongside the announcement of a significant investment aimed at supporting the country’s shift toward sustainable and reliable energy solutions.
The development is being widely viewed as a strategic breakthrough that could help address Pakistan’s long-standing energy challenges while strengthening bilateral economic and technological cooperation between Pakistan and China.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhatti, Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce and Member of the National Assembly, termed the investment a game-changer for Pakistan’s energy landscape. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing full facilitation and support to Chinese investors, emphasizing Pakistan’s openness to advanced technologies and long-term strategic partnerships.
Under Famlink Power’s initiatives, state-of-the-art and environmentally friendly lithium battery systems, solar energy storage solutions, and power backup technologies have been introduced. These solutions are designed to store electricity generated from renewable sources such as solar and wind, helping to mitigate persistent issues including load-shedding, power instability and energy losses.
Energy experts believe the adoption of these technologies will significantly reduce Pakistan’s dependence on imported fuels, lower greenhouse gas emissions, improve industrial productivity and offer cost-effective and dependable alternative energy options for businesses and households.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Famlink Power CEO Mr. Jacob, Managing Director Mr. Li, and General Manager Pakistan Ameer Ahmed. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Li said the company’s investment reflects its commitment to technology transfer and its vision to help transform Pakistan into a regional hub for advanced energy solutions. He also highlighted the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and China, expressing confidence in Pakistan’s growing market and long-term economic potential.
Dr. Bhatti noted that the government has established Special Investment Zones in cities including Lahore, Faisalabad and Sargodha, offering incentives such as a ten-year income tax exemption and customs duty relief on the import of new machinery. He added that the Board of Investment’s one-window facility is providing streamlined support to investors.
Referring to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the parliamentary secretary described it as an unprecedented partnership that is reshaping Pakistan’s economic and energy future.
The event concluded with the signing of memoranda of understanding between local business groups and Chinese companies, marking a significant step toward a greener, more stable and sustainable energy future for Pakistan.
