Muzaffarabad: The Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Azad Jammu & Kashmir (WCCI AJK) has approved a strategic institutional partnership with Muslim Hands AJK to promote women-led cottage industries and strengthen economic participation across all ten districts of the region.
The decision was unanimously endorsed during a Board of Governors meeting chaired by WCCI AJK President Dr. Sidra Azad, with the collaboration focusing on enterprise formalization, business facilitation, capacity building, branding, and access to domestic and export markets—particularly in fashion, apparel, and home-based sectors.
Board members stressed sustainable membership growth, outreach to rural women entrepreneurs, leadership development, digital connectivity for young businesses, and comprehensive brand enhancement to ensure long-term financial stability. Preparations for the Women Expo Kotli AJK were also reviewed, with the event rescheduled until after Ramadan to maximize participation and impact.
Dr. Sidra Azad said institutional collaboration and market-linked enterprise development are essential for sustainable economic transformation, enabling women to emerge as drivers of regional growth rather than mere beneficiaries. Secretary Muhammad Zahid Khan added that WCCI AJK’s 2026–27 roadmap prioritizes governance strengthening, public-private partnerships, SME financing advocacy, and export facilitation aligned with international standards.
The initiative underscores a broader commitment to inclusive economic development, women’s financial independence, and strengthened institutional partnerships in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
