ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif has said that Pakistan will not hesitate to carry out new aerial operations inside Afghanistan if the security situation demands decisive action.Speaking in an interview with foreign media, the minister described recent militant attacks within Pakistan as part of a “proxy war,” alleging support from the Taliban administration in Kabul as well as involvement from India. He stressed that unless authorities in Kabul provide credible guarantees to prevent cross-border militancy, Pakistan would retain the option of conducting targeted air operations to safeguard its national security. The government maintains that the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, responsible for major terrorist incidents across the country, continues to receive backing from elements operating from Afghan territory.Officials reiterated that Pakistan’s foremost priority remains the protection of its citizens and territorial integrity in the face of evolving regional security threats.
