ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Iftikhar Gilani on Tuesday ordered an inquiry into alleged medical negligence at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Bagh. A two-member committee comprising Senior Gynecologist Dr. Shahida Parveen and Senior Surgical Specialist Dr. Akram has been formed to investigate the incident. The committee has been directed to complete the investigation and submit its report within 24 hours. The inquiry was ordered following reports that nearly a year after a woman underwent surgery at DHQ Hospital Bagh, about 200 grams of surgical bandages were allegedly found in her stomach. Prime Minister Gilani directed the Director General of Health to conduct a transparent investigation and identify those responsible.
