Türkiye has stepped up its support for Pakistan’s law enforcement institutions by facilitating specialised training in homicide investigation techniques, aimed at enhancing the professional expertise and investigative capabilities of Pakistani police officers.
The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), in collaboration with the Turkish National Police and Pakistan’s National Police Bureau, organised a five-day Training of Trainers Programme on Homicide Investigation Techniques in Islamabad from October 19 to 23, 2026.
The programme brought together 30 police officers from Islamabad Capital Territory and various cities across Punjab, providing them with advanced knowledge and practical skills to improve the investigation of homicide cases.
Three expert trainers from the Turkish National Police conducted the training, covering a comprehensive range of specialised subjects, including crime scene management, homicide investigation procedures, interviewing techniques, investigations into organised homicide, forensic examination, forensic medicine, and technical and physical surveillance.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Captain (Retd.) Atta Muhammad, Director of Pakistan’s National Police Bureau, termed the programme productive and valuable for strengthening the professional capacities of Pakistani police personnel. He expressed gratitude to the Turkish National Police and TİKA for their continued cooperation and support.
Türkiye’s Ambassador to Pakistan, İrfan Neziroğlu, highlighted the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye, emphasising the importance of expanding institutional cooperation through initiatives that promote the exchange of professional knowledge, technical expertise and practical experience.
He underscored the significance of sustained collaboration between the two countries in strengthening institutional capabilities and advancing professional training.
The five-day programme concluded with the distribution of certificates among participating police officers, marking another step towards enhanced cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye in law enforcement capacity-building and specialised investigative training.
